Today the Jets will conclude their six-game homestand with the final game in…Regina. Technically the Heritage Classic over in Saskatchewan will be a home game for Winnipeg as they take on the Flames. The Jets have stumbled after going 4-2-0 to start the year and went 1-4-0 during the last five games at Bell MTS Place.
The big news on Friday was that third year pro Mason Appleton had broken a bone in his foot warming up for practice. The Moose were in Grand Rapids last night playing the Griffins when news broke. I suspect either Joona Luoto or Andrei Chibisov will be getting the call today which would mean any player recalled will need to get to Regina from Chicago which is where the Moose flew after last night’s game.
Lineup Update:
Coach Maurice confirms that Tucker Poolman comes in and Ville Heinola comes out. Poolman had been dealing with a minor injury which kept him out of the lineup.

Audio:
Coach Maurice: The windy conditions and how it could impact the game. How long does it take to feel like a regular game? Does he remember what, if any, the affect the outdoor game had on the season moving forward? Has he made his decision on the backend? On the nine game mark and Ville Heinola. On getting him “breaks” and whether it is sustainable. Status of Nathan Beaulieu? Is he calling up a forward for the remainder of the road trip? On the Lowry line settling into a rhythm.
Health Update:
Coach Maurice was asked about the status of defenceman Nathan Beaulieu who has been out since he was injured in the final pre-season game against the Wild. When asked if Beaulieu was an option for next week’s games the Jets bench boss indicated “Yes, he could be. We’re hopeful that he gets into a regular contact uniform and he’s been working hard off ice so we don’t think there is much turnaround, once he gets greenlighted to go, he’ll be a player.”.
