Afternoon Delight

Afternoon Delight: Monday

  • John Kreiser of NHL.com chronicles the Top 30 Draft Picks at each position. Hard to argue with #1. I find the busts interesting to reflect upon as well.
  • UNO players react to their new coach, Dean Blais. They had a good one. He gives them instant credibility and a chance to win every night.
  • A few more draft previews, including Philadelphia, New Jersey and Vancouver.
  • Taking Note is reporting that the Regina Pats have their very own Sutter, Shaun Sutter that is. He has joined the Pats as an assistant coach. Though Sutter has no experience, I would imagine he brings all the Sutter traits with him.
  • Former NBA player Greg Ostertag apparently plays hockey. (H/T to Puck Daddy) That is a big guy on skates.
  • Puck the Media has an update on whats going on with the NHL’s tv rights contracts. Hopefully the NHL can parlay these solid ratings into a tv deal thats good for everyone, fans included.
  • The Hockey Beat has a post entitled, “Why Marian Hossa Didn’t Deserve to Win“. I kind of hate to jump on the guy, because he made the decision that was best for him. Had he stayed in Pittsburgh, they likely wouldn’t have had the horses to make it this far.

For the past two weeks, the Afternoon Delight Column has been running song lyrics as titles. The first reader to correctly name all ten songs (email me at kyle@illegalcurve.com) wins a very chic CCM hat, in a fetching black colour.
