A look at Winnipeg Jets 2014 Development Camp – goalies

Getting to know the five goalies attending development camp.

With the Jets 2014 Development Camp slated to start on Monday, July 7th at the MTS IcePlex we thought we would break down all three groups of players attending and give you a bit more info on the prospects who make up each group.

The first group on our list are the five goalies that the Jets have attending camp:

Eric Comrie:  Was drafted in the 2nd round (59th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.  Spent last season with the Tri-City Americans of the WHL playing in 60 games and finishing with 26-25-9 record while posting a 0.925 save % and a GAA of 2.57.  He also played two games with the St. John’s IceCaps of the AHL when his WHL season ended.

Connor Hellebuyck:  Was drafted in the 5th round (130th overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.  Spent last season with the UMass-Lowel River Hawks of the NCAA (Hockey – East) playing in 29 games and finishing with 18-9-2 record while posting a .941 save % and a GAA of 1.78.  Won the inaugural Mike Richter Award as the top goaltender in college hockey last season.

Jason Kasdorf:  Was drafted in the 6th round (157th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.  Spent last season with the RPI Engineers of the NCAA (ECAC) playing in just 2 games (suffered a shoulder injury) finishing with 1-1-0 record while posting a 0.786 save % and a GAA of 3.49.

Jussi Olkinuora:  Undrafted.  Spent last season with the IceCaps of the AHL and the Reign of the ECHL.  Played 10 games for St. John’s finishing with a 5-3-1 record while posting a 0.893 save % and a GAA of 3.25 while he played in 27 games for Ontario finishing with a 14-11-1 record while posting a 0.887 save % and a GAA of 3.01.

Jamie Phillips: Was drafted in the 7th round (190th overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.  Spent last season with the Michgan Tech Huskies of the NCAA (WCHA) playing in 13 games and finishing with 4-6-1 record while posting a 0.892 save % and a GAA of 2.82.
