Yahoo Sports: Pavelec cements himself as Jets playoff starter. While his teammates haven’t wavered in their support of Pavelec he is still answering questions from the critics about whether he has what it takes to be the #1 goalie for this team long term.
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets need a few breaks. They were saying it before Game 1 and they repeated the mantra following the loss. This team isn’t going to change their style. Of course they will likely be more disciplined but they sure won’t give up on the physicality that helped get them into the post-season.
Winnipeg Free Press: Playoff baptism thrill for Jets. The good news for coach Maurice and company is they can focus on the game and get away from the talk of rookies who have never played a playoff game prior to the game 1 loss.
Winnipeg Free Press: The hits will just keep on coming. The Jets have brought the rough and tumble style of the Central division into the Pacific and the Ducks have certainly obliged the gets in bringing the physicality. 83 combined hits and talk that tonight’s game could hit 100.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets look to regroup after tough loss. This is a team that has learned to deal with adversity all season long and won’t panic from one loss. Expect a different team tonight than we saw in game 1.
Winnipeg Sun: Frolik feeling bad about boarding penalty but would throw hit again in same situation. Not exactly the type of player known for throwing hits, let alone dirty ones, you can expect #67 to keep his game plan the same.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets top players badly outperformed by Ducks stars. No question that in the playoffs while depth certainly helps you win a Stanley Cup you cannot get to the promised land without all your horses going. Paul’s column addresses the Jets best needing to be the best.
Winnipeg Sun: Desperate Jets fans turned to Twitter in late-night push for Sportsnet. That would certainly have been panic inducing for any die hard Jets fans trying to tune into the first playoff game for Winnipeg.
Winnipeg Sun: Bars staying open till 4 a.m. for Jets. So Winnipeg is finally becoming a real city? Never mind it is just temporary. Better than nothing with the team playing those late West coast game but I don’t see why this city cannot do this on a regular basis.
Globe and Mail: Jets’ road through first-round series with Ducks is paved with bruises. Lots of eyes turned this game on despite the late hour because of the expected rough nature of the game and fans were certainly not disappointed with the level of physicality.

Someone had an interesting tweet the other day speaking to all the things that divide folks in a city but that the Jets were a thing that most citizens are united behind.
CBC: Peter Mansbridge on Winnipeg Jets loyalty, being a season-ticket holder. CBC News chief correspondent Peter Mansbridge talked hockey and his love of the Winnipeg Jets, while also making a couple zings at the Toronto Maple Leafs, during a stop in the Manitoba capital on Friday.

On the improvement in Pavelec’s play. What is the biggest thing the guys who played in their first playoff game last night take into game 2? Did anything stand out from the tape? On the play of Ducks d-man Vatanen. The save Anderson made on Thorburn, is that where the game turned? On the play of Jacob Trouba. Is he as a coach happy to move past the first game “newness” for players and franchise and now getting into the series. Is he seeing the proper type of bounce back from a loss? Is he considering any lineup changes for game 2?
TSN 1290 Winnipeg: Rona Roundtable. Gary Lawless recaps Game 1 of the Jets/Ducks first round series and spoke about how the undisciplined penalties were critical.
TSN 1290 Winnipeg: The Big Show. Dennis Beyak says that despite a solid effort in Game 1, the Jets are going to need their star players to have a much bigger impact going forward in the series.

Orange County Register: Ducks hits lead to Jets Follies. Anaheim was able to get under the Jets skin in game 1 and use it to their advantage. Will they be able to replicate this in game 2?
Orange County Register: Ducks power play improves in timely fashion. Don’t tell the Ducks that they have a terrible power play because it sure looked good against the Jets on Thursday night.
