Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  The best home in hockey — periodMany people, myself included, cannot believe that the first regular season for the Jets 2.0 is almost over.  It seems highly improbable that we have already seen 39 regular season home games.  Make that 39 straight regular season sellouts with 15,004 incredible Jets fans cheering their team and jeering the opposition until the final whistle soundsThe best sports story of the last year by a country mile.
MTS Centre

Winnipeg Free Press:  Slater is Mr. DedicationHe has shown a dedication to the team and the community that is unsurpassed by anyone else wearing the Jets colours this season.  A nice nomination for the Masterton Trophy from the he Winnipeg chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers Association.

Winnipeg Free Press:  ‘It’s out fault’ says PavelecThe Jets netminder and crowd favourite was visibly upset after the game the team played.  Once again, being the stand-up guy that he is, he stood before a gaggle of reporters and answered questions about his team’s loss.

Winnipeg Free Press:  The RaceAs Mickey Goldmill said to Rocky Balboa “It’s over Rock” and with just 4.1% chance remaining in the Jets playoff hopes it appears all but over.  Of course you cannot say the chance for the playoffs are done until the Jets have been officially eliminated so the team still has the opportunity to go on a run.

Winnipeg Sun:  Snapshots.  One lead too many to overcome.  Wellwood’s penalty shot.  Bogosian’s giveaway.  Miettinen’s pair.  Spezza was dominant.  Karlsson should win Norris.  Wellwood one point shy of career high.  Burmistrov tired?  Stuart hit anything that moved last night.

Winnipeg Sun:  Slater a class actWhether he is leading the fan favourite GST line or going to work with a fan, his off ice dedication to the community hasn’t gone unnoticed.  It will be interesting to see what happens with the pending UFA during the off season.
