Note: The Jets began Thursday with some bad news as Josh Morrissey’s status was downgraded from day-to-day to week-to-week. Later that evening in Chicago, Winnipeg got off to a poor start against the Hawks but managed to battle back from a two-goal deficit to force overtime before falling 4-3 in extra time. Despite the loss, they improved to 4-1-2 on the season. The team is scheduled to skate today at 12 PM CT, so stay tuned for the Practice Report.
Note II: After a week of practice, the Moose are ready to get back into game action as they welcome the Stars to Winnipeg for a pair of games. There were a couple of concerning developments yesterday as prospect Colby Barlow left practice early after taking a tumble into the boards, leaving his availability in question, while we also learned that Kieron Walton underwent surgery and will be out 4-6 weeks. One player who could potentially be available for conditioning work is Elias Salomonsson, who is looking to get back into game action for the first time since April after undergoing surgery during the Moose playoffs. Manitoba will hit the ice for morning skate at 10 AM CT, so check back for updates. Puck drop is at 7 PM CT.
Note III: Getting caught up on some Jets prospect news from earlier this week. On Monday in the OHL, Jacob Cloutier (2025 7th) scored his second goal of the season to tie the game for Saginaw. Over in the WHL on Tuesday, Oakbank product Owen Martin (2025 3rd) had a big night for Spokane, recording two goals and two assists in a four-point performance.
