Note: The Jets didn’t just lose their last game of the regular season. They were soundly demolished by the visiting Sharks by a final score of 6-1. About the only positive was seeing fans get playoff loud for Scott Oake as the Manitoban heads into retirement after an incredible media career.
Note II: With the season concluding last night, the team will hold their end of season media availability. Today, we will hear from players and it is expected on Monday we will hear from head coach Scott Arniel and GM Kevin Cheveldayoff. All the interviews will be posted on illegalcurve.com and on our YouTube channel so be sure you’re subscribing.
Note III: The AHL club of Manitoba are still playing hockey right now as their final regular season road trip continues this evening in Iowa. It’s a big night of hockey in the Central as Texas, Manitoba and Milwaukee are all in action as they continue to jockey for playoff positioning. Puck drop between the Moose and Wild is at 7 PM CT.
Note IV: It was a newsy day on Thursday when it comes to prospects as we learned that 2025 1st rounder Sascha Boumedienne is leaving Boston University and entering the NCAA transfer portal to go to another school next season. Speaking of college hockey, the Jets also announced that they had signed prospect Garrett Brown (2022 4th) to his two-year ELC. He will join the Moose on an ATO for the rest of the season. Sticking with the defencemen theme, we also learned that Elias Salomonsson remains in concussion protocol after failing a test a few days earlier.
Note V: Jets prospect Kevin He (2024 4th) missed his team’s elimination game (injury). After sweeping Owen Sound in the first round, Flint was swept in the second round by Windsor. We shall have to see if this impacts his joining the Moose for the playoffs.
