Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: The Jets saw a really good start disintegrate as the Avs brought it for much of the rest of the game which allowed them to cruise to a 5-2 victory and more importantly for the visitors, allow them to return to Colorado with the series even 1-1. The team won’t skate today but they will hold a media availability before they take off for the Centennial State.

Note II: The Moose also had a chance to keep their momentum rolling against the Starts but that good fortunate went away when Texas flipped the script and took game 1 by a final score of 5-3. They have a practice scheduled for today.

Winnipeg Free Press: Avs grab momentum, roll over Jets. (Paywall). This definitely has the makings of a long series.

Winnipeg Free Press: Hawerchuk’s son in wonder of Winnipeg’s “Whiteout” conditions. (Paywall). It’s hard not to be impressed by the fans in this town during these playoffs and I say this as someone who has been around for 90% of regular season and playoff games.

NHL.com: Avalanche score 4 in 2nd, defeat Jets in Game 2 to even West 1st Round series. Darrin gives you his recap with insight from both rooms.

Sportsnet: Jets’ style of play not holding up against Avalanche. Way too wide open right now as they’ve abandoned the structure that allowed them to have so much regular season success as they try to match what the Avs do which is simply not possible.

Jets video:
