Another loss for the Jets as they drop their second straight on the road trip falling 4-1 to the Leafs. Drops them to 29-16-1 on the season.

Notable:

Adam Lowry moved into 8th spot on the all-times games played list for the Jets/Thrashers with game 585 of his career. He had been tied with Jim Slater who now slips to the 9th spot. He  is 3rd all-time for the Jets 2.0 behind 55 and 26.

It was an excellent and entertaining opening period of hockey in Toronto between the Jets and Leafs which was tied 0-0 with Winnipeg holding a 16-6 shot edge.

Not so much fun for Jets fans in the first four minutes of the middle frame as Auston Matthews scored eight seconds into the 2nd and then again about 3:39 later to give the home team a two goal edge.

That lead increased to 3-0 courtesy of a Mitch Marner shorthanded goal.

Jets made it interesting scoring on a 5 on 3 courtesy of Kyle Connor‘s 23rd goal of the season to cut the deficit to two goals.

Josh Morrissey hits the 50 point mark (in game 46 of the season) for the first time in his career. He’s also got 42 assists in 46 games.

But that was as close as they got as the Leafs scored an empty netter to seal the deal.
