The last update we had on injured centre Bryan Little was a week ago when Jets bench boss Paul Maurice indicated that the veteran forward was in the healing phase after taking a puck to the head on November 5th which perforated his eardrum and left him dealing with vertigo. When asked on November 26th about moving Wheeler to the middle he said “I don’t have any more information but we can only assume now that this is long term for Bryan Little so more than two or three weeks”.
That was a week ago and while the above comment would usually buy the coach a few weeks off from questions regarding his injured player he may have provided some insight today into the length of time the team might be without Little.
He was asked following the Jets optional morning skate again about the move of Wheeler to the middle and whether that could be permanent when the team gets healthy, in his response he said “That option is definitely open yes. But that’s two months away or whatever, I don’t know. We’ll see when we get there.”. Considering the Wheeler move was made as a result of the Little injury it seems fairly clear that the bench boss is referring to the health status of Little.
While it isn’t clear exactly when Bryan Little will be returning to the Jets lineup it seems likely that the team will be without his services for some time. For now he remains on the injured reserve.
