Not sure anyone would believe that final score unless they watched that game. The goals couldn’t be announced fast enough before another was called as the Jets put five up in the 1st period including a Blake Wheeler hat trick (his first with this organization and second of his career). It was his first hat trick since November 6th, 2008.
In addition to this milestone Brendan Lemieux scored his first career NHL goal and Tyler Myers, who assisted on Lemieux’s goal, got his 200th career NHL point.
Not to be lost in the offence was the fact that Connor Hellebuyck moves to 5-0-1 on the season after he made 31 saves in the win. He now has a 2.05 GAA & .937 SV%.

Coach Maurice: His thoughts on the win. On the five goals in the 1st period. Neutralizing the Penguins speed. On the Jets identity. Bottom six production. Play of Brendan Lemieux.
Penguins post-game audio:
Sidney Crosby
Coach Sullivan: On what he saw in the 1st period. Pattern with back-to-back games. On the Pens poor 1st periods. Having a couple of days to regroup. Was there a lot said after the 1st period? What does he say to Casey DeSmith?
