What are your plans tonight? Want to spend time with tens of thousands of your fellow Manitobans? The Winnipeg Whiteout Street Party is going to be the biggest one to date according to Economic Development Winnipeg. It makes sense when you consider that it is game 6 with the Jets potential to clinch a spot in the Conference Final for the first time ever in the NHL history of this city and with temperatures expected to be around +30. Ensuring you have the makings of quite the downtown party.
From the organizers EconDev Winnipeg:
1) The Street Party is ready to welcome up to 23,000 fans tonight! Doors open at 6 pm.
2) Fans are encouraged to arrive early at the #WPGWhiteout Street Party to ensure they have a seat, or to have a viewing backup plan in case capacity is reached and they cannot get in.
3) If capacity is reached at #WPGWhiteout Street Party: Donald & Portage entrance will close at 8 (or earlier), Smith & Portage entrance will remain open, allowing people to enter as others leave Hargrave & Graham entrance will remain open, allowing people to enter as others leave.
4) It’s going to be HOT outside at the #WPGWhiteout Street Party so come prepared! Clear or translucent bottles of water WILL be permitted at the street party. Water will also be available for purchase onsite.
5) Street Party main stage at Donald and St. Mary Avenue has a live post-game concert featuring @tim_co_op, where Jets fans will be able to celebrate together after the final whistle of tonight’s game, win or lose.
6) The will also have FREE water re-filling stations on site at #WPGWhiteout Street Party!”
