Notable:
The Jets came out fast in this one holding a big 7-1 shot edge and a big hit by Tyrel Bauer.
Despite it being mostly Jets, the Ducks open the scoring with Judd Caulfield of Grand Forks, ND getting his first NHL goal in his fourth game. Assist to former Jets/Moose forward Jeff Malott makes the play which sets up the goal.
The IC Bump continued for Malott in the 2nd period as he got his second primary assist of the game giving the visitors a 2-0 lead.
Assistant coach Davis Payne said Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele have a sixth sense. Sure seems that way as they get the first goal of the game for the Jets. Kyle Connor in his 700th NHL game gets his sixth goal of the season. He’s on pace for 100 goals this season. With that goal he moves into sole possession of 3rd place on the All-Time goals scored list.
But the Jets couldn’t overcome two 4th line goals against and the Ducks came to life in the 3rd with three goals to take it 5-1 and hand Winnipeg their first regulation loss.
The power play for Winnipeg was powerless going 0/4.
