The Jets won the first couple of games of this road trip but lost three straight with the Capitals taking it 3-0 so they’ll end the five-gamer 2-3-0.

Notable:
After not starting the game on time yesterday against the Islanders and that theme continuing through 40 minutes the Jets flipped the script through 40 minutes against the Capitals outshooting them 20-11 (and limited the home team to one shot through 13 minutes of the middle frame).
However a late penalty to Mark Scheifele in the 2nd allowed the Caps to start the 3rd on the power play and John Carlson found the back of the net to make it a 1-0 game.
Minutes later the Jets found themselves down 2-0 after Nate Schmidt and Dylan Samberg chose to focus on T.J. Oshie leaving Alex Ovechkin alone to put the puck through Connor Hellebuyck.
And then another defensive breakdown with eight minutes left in the 3rd saw the Jets overcommit to one side leaving Alex Ovechkin open to deposit his second goal of the game past Connor Hellebuyck.
