The news first broke today that the Jets and Tucker Poolman were nearing a three-year deal when Brad Schlossman of the Grand Forks Herald tweeted it out this afternoon. Following same, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun confirmed that Tucker Poolman and the Winnipeg Jets have agreed to terms on a three-year, one-way deal that carries an AAV of $775,000. Update: Jets have now confirmed the above details.
Tucker Poolman’s first pro season was spent split between the Jets and Moose as he got a chance to develop his game in the AHL and then spent time playing and learning in the NHL. After signing a one-year deal out of college last season the Jets 2013 5th rounder (127th overall), who had the option of arbitration but declined to use it, will be back in Winnipeg to continue his pro hockey career.
In 24 games with the Jets, Poolman had one goal and one assist while he had one goal and nine assists in his 17 games with the Moose. Interestingly Poolman scored his first NHL goal before his first AHL one.
