Notable:

While longtime former Jets assistant/Moose head coach Pascal Vincent has been back in Winnipeg with the Blue Jackets since he left the organization, tonight was the first time he has been there as an NHL head coach.

Brenden Dillon matched his career high in goals (6) with Winnipeg that he set 10 years ago with Dallas on the opening goal of the game. And this time he’s done it half the number of games. Like a fine wine number 5 is getting better with age.

On that goal Mark Scheifele picked up his 400th assist in the NHL on the first goal of the game. Crowd gave him some love later in the game.

Crowd in Winnipeg gave Connor Hellebuyck some love for being named an NHL All-Star and Third Star of the Week.

Think we found the Hellebuyck who gets the biggest cheers in Winnipeg.

Give Cole Perfetti three straight games with a goal as got the 2-0 goal for the Jets courtesy of some really nice work by Dylan Samberg to set up that one.

Big blast by Josh Morrissey to make it a 3-0 game.

Saxophone Squirtle making an appearance at tonight’s Jets and Blue Jackets game.

Cole Perfetti with his second of the game to give him 14 and the Jets had a 4-0 lead over the Jackets.

The only negative in this game for Winnipeg was when Mark Scheifele got caught in the ear by a Josh Morrissey shot which deflected off a Columbus stick and into his head. He was up and skated off on his own but that hurt. Update: He came out on the ice after the game to celebrate the win.

It took just 16 seconds for Gabriel Vilardi to get his ninth of the season to make it 5-0 for the Jets on the power play.

That’s the second shutout of the season for Connor Hellebuyck.
