Winnipeg Jets recall 13 players from the Manitoba Moose

Jets recall 13 from the Moose.

With the Manitoba season coming to a conclusion on Friday the Jets have recalled 13 players up to the big club to join the Black Aces.

Moose players recalled by Jets

Mason Appleton
Eric Comrie
Chase De Leo
Jansen Harkins
Jan Kostalek
Brendan Lemieux
JC Lipon
Julian Melchiori
Sami Niku
Nelson Nogier
Nic Petan
Michael Spacek
Logan Stanley

Brendan Lemieux is still dealing with a concussion suffered in game 4 of the second round.  Mason Appleton suffered one as well in the first round but told us yesterday that he is feeling good although we didn’t get any official confirmation that he has been cleared.  Sami Niku was walloped with a massive hit in game 2 of the second round and while he played the final two games in Rockford he is not at 100%.

Chase De Leo is coming off an excellent post-season for Manitoba compiling eight points (2G 6A) in nine games.  Veteran defenceman Julian Melchiori was also very productive in his first ever AHL playoffs producing six points (2G 4A).  Michael Spacek was hit with a three-game suspension after game 3 in the first round against the Griffins but was good in the six games he played.  JC Lipon, Jan Kostalek and Nic Petan played all nine playoff games for Manitoba.  Jansen Harkins has had a frustrating year with injuries although he did play two playoff games and the same could be said for Nelson Nogier who also only played in two playoff games.  Logan Stanley was assigned to the Moose when his OHL season ended but he never played in any games.

In net Eric Comrie was very good for the Moose who saw their scoring dry up a bit against Rockford.
