It’s been two weeks since Jets prospect Elias Salomonsson was knocked out of the game against the Stars in Dallas when he was on the receiving end of a Jason Robertson reverse hit. That night head coach Scott Arniel said he was in concussion protocol.

He’s missed the last six games for Winnipeg and will miss his seventh this evening when they conclude the regular season at home hosting the Sharks.
Before they left on their final road trip the last update we had on the Swedish defender was he was having a stretch of “good day, bad day” and was not skating.
While it was clear he wouldn’t be an option for tonight’s game, Arniel was asked following morning skate for the latest update and whether this could impact his availability for the Moose in the playoffs.
“He’s having sort of good days, bad days. I haven’t heard yet today. He did fail another test, that was two days ago. So I haven’t heard yet today where he’s at. Certainly, if there are still issues, we’ve gotta make sure we look after his health first and foremost.”
He doesn’t directly address the question about Salomonsson’s availability for the Moose playoffs but the last part of his answer does paint a picture. Obviously, if Manitoba goes on a long run then we could see him playing games in the post-season for the Moose but seems unlikely he will be ready to go next week when the playoffs begin.
