The Jets were back on the ice today at the IcePlex following their three game road trip.  Winnipeg is getting ready to play the Flames (Monday) and the Canadiens (Wednesday) but all eyes are on who was missing from today’s skate as Jets fans worry about the status of rookie sensation Patrik Laine who left yesterday’s game in Buffalo in the 3rd period after being on the receiving end of a massive neutral zone hit.  As expected, Patrik Laine was not on the ice for today’s skate according to Brian Munz of TSN 1290.

Update: Coach Maurice has confirmed that Patrik Laine has a concussion.  “Tested out last night, see doctors again today.”  The Jets bench boss couldn’t provide a timeline on a return for the rookie.

Coach audio:

Coach Maurice:  On Laine’s status.  Timeline?  How will Jets adjust lines?  On the adjustment of the players who re on the power play.  Thorburn draws back in?  Will they call someone up?  On the hit on Laine.  More on the hit.  How are Laine’s spirits?  On Nikolaj Ehlers tipping point to success?

Player audio:

Blake Wheeler:  On what the Jets will be missing without Laine.  Thoughts on what Armia may be able to do with the opportunity.  On what Laine means to this team.

Nikolaj Ehlers:  On what the Jets will be missing without Laine.  How much of an impact will it have on his game?  Taking the positives from the road trip.

Mark Scheifele:   On what the Jets will be missing without Laine.  How much of a difference maker Laine has been this season.  Opportunity for Armia on the power play.
