After an All-Star and Player break the Jets are back on the ice for practice.

After an All-Star and Player break the Jets are set to return to the ice in Winnipeg for practice.  They ended the pre break schedule on a four-game losing skid.  With the time away they may have a player or two ready to return off their laundry list of skating wounded.

Pre-Skate News:

The Jets announced this morning that they had recalled veterans Cam Schilling and Logan Shaw.

Skate News:

Ken Wiebe of the Athletic Winnipeg indicates that Nathan Beaulieu was on the ice prior to skate getting underway wearing a regular practice jersey.  A few players are missing according to Mitch Clinton of Jets TV including Mark Scheifele and Tucker Poolman.  As well Bryan Little continues to take part in a non-contact uniform.  Ken also supplies the lines from practice.

Neal Pionk on the break, getting back on the ice today, what it means to see Nathan Beaulieu back in a regular uniform, starting off the post-break stretch on the right skate, improvements they need to make moving forward & controlling their own destiny.

Connor Hellebuyck on his new mental health mask, how the conversation has increased/stigma disappearing, how is it for a goalie after a long layoff, with trade deadline approaching do they see this as an opportunity to prove to management that they can be in a position to get rewarded, challenge of controlling their own destiny, whether the break came at a good time for the Jets, does the pressure feel different this year, would he be ready to go for both games this weekend if his name was called and his favourite moment of the All-Star experience?

Coach Maurice:  Update on the roster.  How does he approach this weekend?  Status of Mark Scheifele?  On the next few weeks for the team to earn from management a boost ahead of trade deadline.  What sense does he get from the players in the room?  On the next few weeks defining their season.  The team getting back to the way they were in the first part of season.  The need for the break.  How much does a coach need a break?  What is the biggest benefit for Jansen Harkins going to the AHL All-Star game.  What makes this a good time to run Morrissey and Pionk?  On the team playing better in front of their goalies.  What goes into the goalie split.

Travel Day:

Centre Mark Scheifele was given the option to travel back to Winnipeg today after he participated in the All-Star game which explains his absence from today’s practice.

Starting Goalies:

Jets bench boss Paul Maurice confirms Laurent Brossoit starts against the Bruins tomorrow while Connor Hellebuyck gets the Blues on Saturday.
