Following yesterday afternoon’s 3-2 win over the Ducks the Jets are practicing at the IcePlex today as they get ready to kick off a home and home series against the Red Wings on Tuesday night here in Winnipeg.

Copp-Shore-Perreault
Bourque-Gustafsson-Shaw

As per Jamie Thomas of Jets TV.

Audio:

Connor Hellebuyck

Patrik Laine

Andrew Copp

Coach Maurice:  Any concern with the four skaters who didn’t participate today in practice? The goaltending plan?  Do they have to pay “more attention” to these games because of where Detroit is in the standings?  Assessment of the Jets special teams.  Play of Andrew Copp up the middle when Lowry was hurt.  Team defensive structure and the confidence it instills in the goalies.  Goalie facing high-danger shots.  When a team sees a smaller guy fighting as opposed to if it was a bigger player and whether it has a different impact on the bench.  Plan for Appleton/Bourque?

Goaltending Plan:

Laurent Brossoit will start against the Wings here in Winnipeg and Connor Hellebuyck will start in his home state of Michigan on Thursday.

Health News:

Jets bench boss Paul Maurice was asked if he has a plan for Mason Appleton and Gabriel Bourque he indicated “That’ll get sorted out a little bit here today.  We won’t be looking to put them both in at the same time but they’re both real close.”  Perhaps that means the Moose will get a boost before they head out on the road for five games or maybe the Jets have made a decision regarding David Gustafsson and whether he goes to play for Sweden at the World Junior tournament in the Czech Republic.  We shall have to wait and see.

He also added the four skaters (Lowry, Poolman, Beaulieu & Pionk) who missed today’s practice are all expected to play tomorrow.
