After last night’s disastrous 5-4 loss to the Islanders in the final moments of the hockey game the Jets will return to the ice today as they try to salvage this homestand.  They will be facing a desperate Montreal team who currently sit outside the playoff line in the east.

Practice Notes:

According to Brian Munz of TSN 1290 Winnipeg all Jets who played last night are on the ice today.  As is Dustin Byfuglien who continues to get closer to a return to action.  Looks like the Jets have changed up the lines and D pairs according to Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press.

Lines:

Connor-Scheifele-Wheeler
Ehlers-Hayes-Laine
Tanev-Lowry-Little
Perreault-Copp-Roslovic

Beaulieu Trouba
Chiarot Byfuglien

Coach Maurice:  What has it been like the last 15 hours since the loss?  What did he get out of today’s practice?  On last night’s game feeling like the Sharks game?  Is Dustin Byfuglien good to go tomorrow?  How much of a difference can Byfuglien make?  On correcting the issues.  When comparing this team to last year’s team that went 11-1 to end the season.  Is there any benefit to having some painful lessons ahead of the playoffs?  Status of Laurent Brossoit?  Will Eric Comrie get in a game?  Gonna ride Hellebuyck?  Status of Bogdan Kiselevich.  Bob Cole’s legacy.

Health Update:

Asked if Dustin Byfuglien is good to play tomorrow the Jets bench boss indicated “We always wait 24 hours.  He was good to play today, said he could have played yesterday.  So if he comes back in feeling good, looking good, he’ll be a player for us.”

Goalie Laurent Brossoit skated on his own today according to coach Maurice but wouldn’t commit to whether Eric Comrie would get a start in net.  “I don’t see him coming in the next two as part of our schedule.”
