The Jets left Colorado for Nevada following yesterday’s 7-1 shellacking at the hands of the Avalanche.  It was pretty clear following the game that the team and coaching staff were fed up and it should make for an interesting remainder of this road trip.  Today they are scheduled to practice at T-Mobile Arena for game two of this three-game road trip.

Practice News:

Little bit of sunshine on a gloomy day for the Jets as Nikolaj Ehlers is on the ice in a regular uniform after wearing a non-contact jersey yesterday during morning skate according to Mitchell Clinton of Jets TV.  Only player missing according to Sara Orlesky of TSN is captain Blake Wheeler.  Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun provides the lines below.

Lines:

Connor-Scheifele-Ehlers (Wheeler)
Perreault-Little-Laine
Copp-Lowry-Tanev
Lemieux-Roslovic-Appleton

Audio:

Mark Scheifele

Andrew Copp

Mathieu Perreault

Coach Maurice:  After a day of reflection what are his thoughts on last night’s game?  Status of Blake Wheeler?  Status of Nikolaj Ehlers?  On compete as a theme.  Commitment to the defensive side of the game.  Changes to the lines.  Going back to the TLC line.  Can Perreault/Laine help each other?  On splitting up Scheifele and Wheeler, was that a message or just trying to shake things up?

Health Update:

With Nikolaj Ehlers switching from the non-contact to contact jersey there was some question as whether he’d be ready to “No he’s not going tomorrow.  We’ve got him out of the gold jersey so he’s back to full contact.  We’ll see how he reacts to today’s work.  We are going to skate as a group in Arizona on our off day.  That would be two full practices, we’ll see from there.”
