Winnipeg Jets Practice Report

Latest from the Jets practice from IcePlex.

The Jets are at IcePlex for the final day of practice of their five day “break” between games.  The team will skate here and then fly off to Pittsburgh for their first of two games on the road.

Practice notes:

The big news pre-practice was that Matt Hendricks has been activated off the injured reserve and the subsequent move by the Jets was to assign Nic Petan to the Moose.

Health Update:

Jacob Trouba wasn’t on the ice for the Jets today at practice but the coach confirmed that he is fine and will play tomorrow in Pittsburgh.  Adam Lowry is traveling with the team and while it was unexpected that he would play on Thursday, the Jets bench boss confirmed today that “I don’t have him in the next two games on the road, but he’s gotta come and he’s back skating now, so we want him with us.”

Coach Maurice:  Status of Jacob Trouba.  Sending Nic Petan down/Hendricks returning to lineup.  Keys to start in Pittsburgh.  On the Penguins defence.  On things the Penguins do well that the Jets could emulate.  Will he split the goaltending for these two games?  Why does Brendan Lemieux make sense on the power play?  Difference between having Lemieux and Lowry on the power play.  Status of Lowry.  What can Nic Petan do to distinguish his game with the Moose?  On players struggling with getting lower minutes.  What does he expect Hendricks to bring to tomorrow’s game?  On Lemieux’s confidence.
