Note: The Jets got back to their winning ways as they defeated the Flames last night 5-3 in their first back-to-back of the season which gave them six wins in their last seven games. Down 1-0 the tone setter was Logan Stanley. Eventually the team got going, exploding in the middle frame for four goals including the first at home for Jonathan Toews and most importantly saw Gabriel Vilardi break his goal slump. The team is set to have a very optional practice at 12 noon as they get set to conclude their three games in four days against the Mammoth tomorrow night.
Note II: Things didn’t go smoothly for the Moose last night in Grand Rapids as they lost their third straight game to the Griffins getting shutout there last night as they resumed their road trip in Michigan. An unforced error led to the first goal of the game and they had a chance to tie thing in the middle frame but David Gustafsson was denied his third goal of the season. The Griffins got two goals in 31 seconds to make it a 3-0 game which blew it open. No rest for them as they are in Chicago tonight for their first game against the Wolves. Puck drop at 7 PM CDT.
Note III: We did get the next steps (although no timeline) on what the Jets bench boss needs to see from his captain before he can get to the next stage in his return.
Note IV: Pair of Jets prospects in the OHL got on the scoresheet last night. Kieron Walton (2024 6th) finished with 1G 2A in a Sudbury win while his best friend Kevin He (2024 4th) had an insurance goal for Niagara.
Note V: Two hours of Jets and Moose talk on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show as the home stand continues in Winnipeg with one game to go before they head out on the road.
