Note: The Jets sans Mark Scheifele left for St. Louis on Thursday as the top centre for Winnipeg was knocked out of game 5 and head coach Scott Arniel indicated he wouldn’t be on the trip for game 6 later this evening. One player who is coming is Nikolaj Ehlers although we will have to wait and see what colour jersey he is wearing (regardless of that he most likely wouldn’t be a player tonight). Morning skate for Winnipeg gets underway at 11:30 AM CDT so stay tuned for the pre-game report to ensure you’re up-to-date on the latest. Puck drop is at 7 PM CDT.
Note II: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and St. Louis for game 6, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game starting around 9:40 PM CDT.
Note III: Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck was named a Hart Finalist on Thursday. Guess Jets fans were ahead of the curve when they were chanting “MVP MVP” ahead of game 5. If he wins he’d be the first goalie to do so since Carey Price did it in 2014-15.
Note IV: Last night in the OHL Jets prospect Colby Barlow (2023 1st) scored the game-winning and series clinching goal for Oshawa as they sweep Barrie to win the Eastern Conference Finals. He’s got 13G 16A for 29 points in 16 games. He’s 2nd in OHL playoff points race. This sets up a showdown in the OHL Championship series between him and fellow prospect Jacob Julien (2023 5th) who is on a juggernaut London team who has won 12 straight games (still haven’t lost a game in the playoffs).
