Much like the Jets did with Nikolaj Ehlers during their 2015 run when they recalled their 2014 1st rounder from junior to give him a chance to be around the team it appears they are gonna do the same with 2023 1st rounder Brayden Yager as the team announced his recall this morning.

Yager’s Hurricanes team in the WHL just got eliminated by the Tigers in the Eastern Conference Finals. In 16 playoff games with Lethbridge he had eight goals and six assists for 14 points. Here are a sampling of some of his playoff results:

In a must-win game 6, Jets prospect Brayden Yager (2023 1st) showed off his quick release as he contributed this goal (evidently with a new stick) to help his Lethbridge club even their series with Calgary at 3-3.
He’s got 6G 5A for 11 points in 11 games.

Jets prospect Brayden Yager (2023 1st) and his Hurricanes pick up the game 5 win over the Wheat Kings and will advance to the second round.
He had 1G 1A in the game. He finished with 11 shots on goal (Brandon as a team had 26).
