Note: The Jets were in action last night as they took on the Devils which saw them roll to a 4-0 win which was their NHL leading 50th victory of the season. Connor Hellebuyck picked up his franchise record 7th shutout of the season and Mark Scheifele became the 2.0 All-Time points leader. Today they are scheduled to practice at 12 noon CDT. Note II: The Moose were also playing last night as they absolutely needed a clean two points over the Icehogs in Rockford and that’s just what they got winning the game 2-1. The GWG came on the power play as a trio of Jets prospects contributed to the rocket of a goal scored by Danny Zhilkin (2022 3rd). They will close out the three-game road trip this evening with a re-match against the Icehogs. Puck drop is at 7 PM CDT.
Note III: Lots of Jets prospects were in action on Friday night with both the OHL and WHL playoffs underway. Biggest impact goes to 2023 1st rounder Colby Barlow who had 3G 1A for Oshawa in a win. Jacob Julien (2023 5th) had 2A for London in a win, while Kieron Walton (2024 6th) finished with 1A for Sudbury in a loss. Over in the Western league Brayden Yager had 2A for Lethbridge in a win while Markus Loponen (2024 5th) didn’t get any points in a Victoria victory.
Note IV: We’ve got two hours of Jets talk coming your way on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show as we look back at the week that was in Jetsland including reflections on the big win that pitted the best in the west vs the best in the east, as well as the game on Friday between Winnipeg and New Jersey. We do some scoreboard watching as the playoffs draw closer and closer and will close out the show with some AHL talk about the Manitoba Moose.
