Note: While 80% of Jets players are enjoying some rest and relaxation and three guys are getting ready for 4 Nations camps (Hellebuyck, Connor for USA and Morrissey for Canada) there is one player (Mark Scheifele) who is in limbo while he awaits news of the status of Sidney Crosby who it was reported will be in Montreal for a physical after missing the last two games for the Penguins. If 87 cannot play it is believed that 55 has a good shot to be added to the roster. Stay tuned.
Note II: The Moose did something on Sunday we aren’t used to seeing. They scored. A lot. They had three goals (Coghlan, Coghlan & Ford) in the 1st and four goals (AJF, AJF, Shaw & Ford) in the 2nd for a total of seven they put into the back of the net which seemed fitting given it was Super Bowl Sunday as they rolled to a 7-2 win over the Wild to earn the split of the two-game set. Prospects Brad Lambert (3A) and Elias Salomonsson (2A) had big contributions as well.
Note III: Jets 2023 1st rounder Colby Barlow was in action with Oshawa where he finished with one goal (an absolute rocket) and one assist in a Generals win. He’s now got 48 points (28G 20A) in 47 games.

Illegal Curve Hockey Show: Saturday podcast. It was a busy final show for two weeks (we are on hiatus next week) this past weekend as we discussed the local NHL club of Winnipeg for two hours. We discussed the win over the Islanders, their eighth straight. And where do Jets have to get in playoffs for it not to be considered a disappointing season, whether the Jets needs have changed, benefits to guys who are playing in 4 Nation and Winnipeg being at top of no-go lists.
