Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: The Jets disappointing slide continued on Saturday with a 3-2 loss to the Senators late in the game as their PK wasn’t able to keep Ottawa off the board when it mattered most. It was an unfortunate end to a night that began with a lot of fanfare for netminder Connor Hellebuyck who was playing in his 500th NHL game and ended with Winnipeg losing for the sixth straight time (0-5-1). The team are off today and will be back in action on Monday to take on the Kings.

Note II: The Moose took Saturday off after earning three of four points against the Marlies including a 4-3 victory on Friday afternoon. Today they are scheduled to practice before they head to Abbotsford to take on the Canucks in a pair of games Tuesday and Wednesday. While Manitoba were not in action yesterday they did get some positive news on the out-of-town scoreboard with the two teams trailing them for the final playoff spot both losing.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Hellebuyck plays 500th game with much achieved, more to prove. It’s unfortunate that his memory of the game will be a loss but this article focuses on much more than just last night’s hockey game.

Ottawa Sun: Senators keep streak alive with win over the Jets. A view from a writer who covers the Jets opponent.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets’ skid hits six games. (Paywall). From bad to worse things have gotten in Jetsland.
