Note: The Jets had won two straight games heading into last night’s game but they were against NHL bottom feeders. Last night was a litmus test game against a top team in the NHL in the form of the New York Rangers who are the first place team in the Metro division and have more home wins than any other team not named Colorado in the NHL. Winnipeg more than adequately held their own and then took over in the middle frame which was enough to lead them to a 4-2 victory. The Jets are heading to New Jersey to practice as they prepare to face the Devils so stay tuned for the Practice Report.
Note II: Some unexpected news on Tuesday morning as the Jets announced that head coach Rick Bowness would be heading back to Winnipeg for a minor medical procedure and that associate coach Scott Arniel would be handling bench responsibilities in his absence. This team hasn’t missed a beat with Arniel behind the bench. Including last night’s victory they are now 10-2-2 with him as interim head coach.
Note III: The Moose got loose on Tuesday morning for their second school day game and they sure gave almost 6000 screaming kids plenty to get excited about as they rolled to a 5-1 win over the Griffins to kick off the six-game homestand off on the right foot. Jets prospect Brad Lambert had a big impact on the game and continues to set records as a rookie. These two clubs will have a re-match tonight with puck drop at 7 PM CDT.
