Game 72: Winnipeg Jets vs Colorado Avalanche pre-game report

Most of the Jets stayed off the ice on Wednesday after a big 4-1 win over the Golden Knights in Winnipeg on Tuesday. However, with the Predators also winning they remained five points back of the Predators (and the Kings) for the final wild card spot in the West. And it won’t get any easier to make gains considering they have a home and home series with the top team in the NHL with the Avs in town this evening.

The Avs come to town having won three straight games and are currently the only NHL team with over 100 points. They’ve only lost seven times in regulation on the road although one of those losses came in Winnipeg two weeks ago. Despite this they score more than any other team and have allowed the least amount of goals against in the entire NHL. They good!

Odds:

The Jets continue to fight for every point as the schedule stiffens, but a showdown with the league-leading Avalanche presents a steep test. Colorado’s consistency makes them a tough out, though Winnipeg has shown enough push lately to suggest this matchup may be tighter than it looks on paper, even if the edge leans toward the visitors..
