Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: If you turned off the game in Carolina after 40 minutes then you missed one heck of a comeback as the Jets stormed back in the 3rd with five straight goals to give them their eighth win in the last ten games as they defeated the Hurricanes 5-3. It wasn’t all good news after the game as head coach Rick Bowness advised that Gabriel Vilardi had returned to Winnipeg for evaluation. No rest as they flew to Western New York where they will face off against the Sabres this evening who were also in action on Saturday where they defeated the Golden Knights 7-2 at home. No morning skate for either team but all the relevant news will be posted in the pre-game report so check back for that. Puck drop is at 6 PM CST.

Note II: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and Buffalo, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game.

Note III: The Moose needed a good effort against the Stars as they haven’t had a good showing in the first game of a two-game set when they are hosting at Canada Life. On Saturday there was no such worry (despite a bit of a 3rd period lapse) as they opened the scoring on a Kristian Reichel shot (here), got the game-winning goal (here) off a slightly controversial Parker Ford shot and then Nikita Chibrikov put the exclamation point on the victory with the seventh goal of the game (here) as time wound down. Check out the full recap here. The re-match goes this afternoon in downtown Winnipeg at 2 PM CST as Manitoba concludes their six game homestand.
