Note: The Jets held a longer than usual practice before taking off for Pittsburgh which is where they will begin their two-game road trip but given they hadn’t played a game since January 27th it isn’t a surprise that the coaching staff wanted to ensure they got their legs going at hockey for all centre. We didn’t learn who was going on waivers but in order for Mark Scheifele to come off IR someone has to be assigned to the Moose so stay tuned for that news today. Morning skate gets underway at 10:30 AM CST. All the relevant news will be posted in the pre-game report so check back for that. Puck drop is at 6 PM CST.

Note III: A pair of Moose players in Brad Lambert (empty netter & one-timer highlights) and Kyle Capobianco played in the AHL All-Star game last night in San Jose. Today they join the rest of their teammates for some time off before they resume the post All-Star portion of the schedule on Friday night in Grand Rapids.

It was somewhat remarkable in yesterday’s media availability when Kelly Moore of 680 CJOB said to Kyle Connor that tonight’s game against the Penguins will be just the fourth time this season he’s had Mark Scheifele, Kyle Connor and Gabriel Vilardi in it.
