Note: The Jets were off on Thursday as they returned home from Alberta having dropped the first game of the season to the Flames. Note II: The Moose completed their final day of training camp on Thursday as they get set to kick off their 2023-24 season with the season/home opener this evening as they welcome Calgary to town. Puck drop is at 7 PM.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Kyle Connor bags six-pack of hockey history with opening-game tally. One thing number 81 is good at is putting that puck into the back of the net. Quite the remarkable and historic run he is on. Will certainly make the 2024-25 season opener must watch TV.

The Athletic Winnipeg: Jets play well but drop opener to Calgary Flames: Takeaways, overreactions, more. (Paywall). Murat with some thoughts on the first game of the regular season for Winnipeg.

Moose news:

Winnipeg Free Press: Moose will be young and fast. (Paywall). This team will have speed to burn and as a result they will be looking to generate chances/opportunities in a different manner than what we’ve seen in the past.
