Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Your source for all the latest Jets, Moose & Ice news, video and audio.

Note: The Jets picked up a monumental win over one of the best teams in the NHL on Sunday night handing the Devils a 6-1 defeat. While folks may point out that New Jersey were playing their third game in four nights and a back-to-back, an interesting factoid was that the visitors were 9-2-0 and 5-0-0 when those are road games coming into last night’s game. It was a total team win. And that was important given that the Flames came back to defeat the Ducks to maintain their two point deficit to Winnipeg.

Note II: The Moose were off on Sunday after they ended their weekend with a disappointing 2-1 loss to the Canucks considering they held a 15-0 shot edge after ten minutes and ultimately took 23 shots total in the opening period. They return to the ice today for a practice.

Note III: The Ice picked up two wins this weekend which gave them a 2-0 round 1 series lead over the Tigers. The series shifts to Medicine Hat for game 3 which is underway on Tuesday.

Sportsnet: Resurgent Wheeler keeps producing for Jets in big win over Devils. He made a good point after the game when asked about the jump and he pointed to the team getting the opportunity to rest and be at home. Sure seems to have worked for him as his play along the wall was solid, as were his faceoffs and his passing.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets getting their groove back with big win over Devils. It was funny in the 2nd period how it almost seemed like Jets fans didn’t want to be too excited by the 4-0 score. As if they didn’t believe it or thought they might be dreaming. Scott gives you his insight on the win.
