Note: The Jets were off on Monday after sweeping through Florida where they defeated both the Panthers and Lightning. We will learn today whether Josh Morrissey is ready to return after missing the last game and if Pierre-Luc Dubois, who seemed unlikely to join the team on the road trip based on what Rick Bowness said on Sunday. With it being a gameday all eyes will be on morning skate which gets underway at 10:30 AM CST. All the relevant news will be posted in the pre-game report so check back for that. Puck drop is at 6 PM CDT.
Note II: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and Carolina, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game. This season you’ll have a chance to win great schwag including authentic Jets jerseys, hats, etc after every single game (For a variety of ways to enter click here).
Note III: The Moose travelled on Monday from Iowa to Illinois as they landed in Rockford in advance of their next clash with a divisional rival. Today they are scheduled to practice ahead of tomorrow night’s game.
Note IV: The Ice will try to match team history tonight as they ride a four-game win streak which got them to 52 wins on the season. They set the franchise career high last season when they got to 53. They’ve got six games left on their calendar with a chance to tie the franchise mark this evening in Prince Albert against the Raiders.
Note V: Perhaps you have Jets related questions? Well Ken Wiebe of Sportsnet has a monthly mailbag and you can direct anything you’ve got his way. You can send him a DM on twitter or email him at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Winnipeg Sun: Revitalized Jets must keep momentum going. They’ll have a good shot to see if they can keep this rolling against a Hurricanes team that has been shutout in two straight games and may have lost star Sebastian Aho for awhile.
The Athletic Winnipeg: What if Kevin Cheveldayoff was right (and I was wrong) about post-deadline situation. (Paywall). As always some interesting thoughts from Murat including the notion that the team benefits from carrying extra players that they wouldn’t if they had a player with a bigger cap hit on the roster.
CBC: True North moves one step closer to buying Winnipeg’s Portage Place mall. They are gonna have quite a bit of real estate stretching from Ellice to St. Mary’s if this deal goes through.
Sportsnet: 32 Thoughts. The Jets got quite a bit of airtime on the podcast with Marek and Friedman after they swept through the Sunshine State. The pair, especially Friedman, had plenty to say about the importance of goalie Connor Hellebuyck.
