Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Your source for all the latest Jets, Moose & Ice news, video and audio.

Note: The Jets practiced on Wednesday as they try to get their ship back on track. We learned that uncertainty remains regarding Pierre-Luc Dubois and Mason Appleton who both didn’t hit the ice with the rest of the team. With Winnipeg practicing today before they leave for Edmonton we shall have to wait and see what happens with those two. Practice gets underway at 11 AM so be sure to check back for the Practice Report.

Note II: Winnipeg also announced that they had signed goalie Evan Cormier to a one-year, two-way deal which is simply a repeat of a move that they’ve done the last few years ahead of trade deadline to ensure organizational depth.

Note III: The Moose were off yesterday as they get some rest in before they take on the Wolves to conclude their final pair of games during this eight-game homestand. Today they are scheduled to practice.

Note IV: All good things must come to an end and the Ice win streak concludes at 11 games as they drop their game last night in Medicine Hat to the Tigers. Winnipeg are currently 7-1-0-0 through eight games of their 10 game road trip. They will try to get back on track Friday vs Pats.

A good read from Wieber ahead of Friday’s deadline.

Global News: Beware of NHL trade deadline inflationTis the time for silly season when caution is thrown to the wind as GMs engage in an arms race to load up their clubs for what they hope to be a long playoff run with some willing to mortgage their future in hope of that shiny Stanley Cup.
