Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Your source for all the latest Jets, Moose & Ice news, video and audio.

Note: The Jets lineup woes, which it didn’t appear could get any worse with six skating wounded on the list, may in fact do so with the potential addition of rookie Cole Perfetti who suffered an injury in Boston on the 22nd of December. We will have to wait for morning skate to see what his status is but if I was a betting man my guess is you’ll see the top goal scorer for Manitoba (Jeff Malott) get himself his first recall of the 2022-23 season. He’s been on fire for the Moose with five goals in his last seven games (15 overall in 23 games) and has earned himself a second NHL game with his play. With it being a gameday all eyes will be on morning skate which gets underway at 10:30 AM CST. All the relevant news will be posted in the pre-game report so check back for that. Puck drop is at 7:00 PM CST.

Note II: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between the Jets and Wild, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game. This season you’ll have a chance to win great schwag including authentic Jets jerseys, hats, etc after every single game and now a grand prize of a pair of tickets to an NHL game of your choice (For a variety of ways to enter click here).

Note III: The Moose remain on holidays break until the 28th. They are back in action on Friday and Saturday when they host the Canucks farm club from Abbotsford.

Note IV: The Ice sit 26-4-0-0 which is good enough for 1st in the WHL’s Eastern Conference. They are currently on holiday break resuming game action on December 28th when they head to Moose Jaw.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Jets emerge from Christmas break battle-scarred and battle-tested. While Connor Hellebuyck is always relied upon something tells me he will be an even more critical factor the next few weeks.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets have battle scars to prove their mettle. (Paywall). The next three games are somewhat critical as teams narrow the gap on Winnipeg and look to get ahead of them in the race.

Minneapolis Star Tribune: Sammy Walker, Adam Beckman called up from Iowa by Wild. It isn’t just the Jets that are going to the farm right now to find lineup options.
