Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Your source for all the latest Jets, Moose & Ice news, video and audio.

Note: The Jets were in Seattle to conclude a two-game trip out west but unlike the contest on Saturday against the Canucks, the Kraken were more than ready for Winnipeg. Ultimately the home team took the game 3-2 dropping the Jets to 20-10-1-0 on the season. They are off today and will be back in action on Tuesday when the Senators are in town.

Note II: Manitoba and Belleville did battle in a re-match on Sunday after the Moose took the game on Saturday by a final score of 6-2. They followed that up with a comeback 3-2 OT win to give themselves a weekend sweep courtesy of Jeff Malott‘s game-winning goal as they improved to 14-7-2-1 on the season.

Note III: The Ice weren’t in action on Sunday but they were the recipient of an apology today from the Winnipeg Free Press after they filed a report (which the Ice said was false and inaccurate) that the local junior hockey club had been fined a substantial amount of money by the WHL.

Jets news:

Global News: Jets plagued with injuries, but weathering the storm for now. It will be an interesting test of the depth of the organization over the next month or so.

TSN: Josh Morrissey having a Norris-calibre season for Jets. “From quality play to dominance” is quite the line with respect to what Josh Morrissey is doing.

Sportsnet: Jets run out of gas in loss to Kraken to end west coast swing. Perhaps they should have switched to a more environmentally friendly resource like electric instead of gas. 🙂

Winnipeg Sun: Jets fall short against Kraken. Check out the recap of last night’s game from Ted.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets running low on fuel. (Paywall). When the schedule came out and one took a gander at the Jets schedule in December it was pretty, pretty clear it was going to be hectic and difficult. Mike recaps the game last night from Climate Pledge Arena.

Winnipeg Free Press: Rittich, kid brother have strong bond. (Paywall). Mike had a 20 minute chat with the goalie who is spending his first year in Winnipeg.
