Note: Most of the Jets chatter on Wednesday was focused on who the team might select with the 14th overall pick at the NHL Draft this summer.
Note II: The Moose hosted their first playoff game in four years last night as they went into game 3 needing a win to keep their five-game series alive against the Admirals. And given how the game looked after 20 minutes with Milwaukee holding a 2-0 lead it didn’t look good but the home team gave the close to 5000 fans inside plenty to cheer about in the remaining 40 minutes. Special teams played a huge role as they killed 7/7 penalties and went 2/4 on the power play as part of five straight (Barron, Malott, Gawanke, Jones & Johnson) goals in the 2nd and 3rd to force a game 4 on Friday night. Today they are scheduled to practice.
Note III: The Ice were also in action last night after dropping game 3 in Moose Jaw on Tuesday. They used a three goal 2nd period to regain momentum which ultimately led them to a 5-3 win over the Warriors to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. They return to Winnipeg for game 4 which goes at the Ice Cave on Friday night.
The Hedge: A chat with Jets defenceman Josh Morrissey. Technically this is a video but Josh Morrissey dialed in so his portion is audio. Either way they chat for just over 18 minutes about this past season and look ahead to next.
Illegal Curve Hockey: Moose stave off elimination with 5-2 game 3 comeback win over Admirals. It was quite a win to get themselves back into the series but now they’ll have to forget it and focus on the next must-win game.
Winnipeg Sun: Moose win, force a Game 4. Scott recaps the action.
Winnipeg Free Press: Moose storm back for 5-2 win over Admirals. (Paywall). Mike gives you his thoughts from his spot inside Canada Life last night.
Winnipeg Sun: Ice move one win from conference finals. Folks in Winnipeg are being spoiled with some playoff hockey right now.
Global News: Ice one win away from WHL East Final after Game 4 win in Moose Jaw. A big win to send the series back to Winnipeg up 3-1 instead of tied 2-2.
650 CKOM Saskatchewan: Ice pushes Warriors to brink of elimination. A view of things from someone who covers the Warriors.
