Note: It wasn’t the prettiest of wins but the Jets picked up a critical two points in a comeback victory last night in Buffalo. Tonight they face a tall test in the Leafs over in Toronto. They will remain without Kyle Connor and Nate Schmidt who remain in covid protocol. No morning skate today although you can still check back for a pre-game report. Puck drop is at 6 PM CDT and following the final buzzer we want you to join the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show.

Note II: The Moose were looking for a the two-game series sweep of the Rocket at home last night but were unable to get it done against Laval. Despite the fact they opened the scoring courtesy of Jeff Malott’s 20th goal of the season they allowed three in the first 10 minutes of the middle frame which proved to be enough for the visitors who added some insurance in the 3rd. They are back in action tomorrow night when they take on the Marlies in Winnipeg.

Jets news:

Sportsnet: Too much on line for Jets-Maple Leafs rematch to be slugfest. I had actually forgotten about the first game of the season between these two teams until I read Wieber’s article but with all that is on the line for Winnipeg he writes about how they need to be focused on leaving Toronto with two points. Suspect that’s what this Kitchener-Waterloo product is thinking.

Sportsnet: Jets’ Dubois happy to pick up two points in imperfect win vs. Sabres. Kyle Bukauskas talks with Winnipeg Jets forward Pierre-Luc Dubois who was happy that the team picked up two points despite an imperfect performance against the Buffalo Sabres, and laughs about Blake Wheeler stealing his goal.

TSN: Hellebuyck can save the Jets’ playoff hopesConnor Hellebuyck has played in more games than any other goaltender in the NHL this season, and his talent was on display when the Jets bested the Sabres. TSN’s Director of Scouting Craig Button joins Laura Diakun to discuss how Hellebuyck has the potential to save the Jets’ playoff hopes.
