Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Your source for all the latest Jets and Moose news, video and audio.

Note: The Jets returned to Winnipeg with four of six points in the standings bank after winning twice on this three game road trip including a 4-3 overtime victory last night in St. Louis. It wasn’t all good news however as Andrew Copp left the game in the 3rd period after he took a big hit in the neutral zone and interim head coach Dave Lowry didn’t have an update on him after the game. The Jets are off today so any updates on Copp as well as status updates on Cole Perfetti and Kristian Reichel will have to wait for tomorrow after morning skate as they prepare to face the Golden Knights which is gonna be a big tilt.

Note II: The Moose are traveling today as they hit the road for seven games away from Manitoba starting with a pair of games in Abbotsford. They are coming off that big 6-1 win over the Senators on Saturday and have points in five straight games (4-0-0-1). Given how things went the last time they were facing the Canucks in BC they are gonna look for a different result starting tomorrow night.

Note III: If you wanna get up-to-date on the Winnipeg Ice be sure to check out our Ice Chips feature later this morning. It will get you all caught up from the week that was for the local WHL team. Update: Read it here.

Jets news:

NHL.com: Jets focused on playoff push, not deals ahead of Trade Deadline, GM says. If Kevin Cheveldayoff doesn’t mention the word conversation while having a conversation I would be worried. No such fear in his most recent conversation with Tim.

Sportsnet: In wake of important win, Jets primarily concerned with Andrew Copp’s health. Wieber gives you his thoughts from St. Louis.

The Athletic Winnipeg: Andrew Copp’s injury puts Winnipeg’s trade deadline into perspective. (Paywall). Murat wrote about the impact the injury to the versatile forward could have on the plans for the Jets as the trade deadline approaches.

Winnipeg Sun: Dubois goal gives Jets rare overtime victory. Pierre-Luc Dubois made his 100th game wearing a Jets uniform a memorable one as he gave them a much needed two points.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets closing on wild-card spot. (Paywall). Getting four of six on this road trip and with the teams ahead of them stumbling it has certainly made things more interesting a week out from the trade deadline.

St. Louis Post-Dispatch: Another overtime loss for Blues. Always good to get insight into the game from a writer that covers the Jets opponent.
