Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note: The Jets are back in action tonight after taking the day off on Thursday.  Just because they weren’t on the ice however doesn’t mean they weren’t making news as the team made a waiver wire claim of goalie Eric Comrie back from the Devils and assigned him to the taxi squad. Today they will face the Canucks in the third game of this four-game west coast road trip.  Stay tuned for our pre-game report.  Puck drop is at 9 PM CT.

Note II:  The Moose picked up their first win of the season last night defeating the Marlies 4-2 courtesy of 43 saves by Mikhail Berdin and a goal and two assists from Tyler Graovac.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets searching for consistency with post-trade lineup still in flux.  It will be interesting to see if they give Dubois a bit more time to recover so as not to risk any potential reoccurrence of the issue that has kept him from the lineup.

Winnipeg Sun: What’s old is new – Jets claim well-travelled goaltender Comrie off waiver wire again.  Ted caught up with the jovial netminder who is back once again in the fold of the organization which drafted him.  His return, despite two weeks in quarantine, will allow them to finally not have to keep a goalie on the active roster.

Sportsnet: Scheifele putting in work to become multifaceted threat in NHL.  Ken’s column on the top centre for Winnipeg.

Global News:  Jets’ schedule will clarify team’s identity.  We will see where the rubber hits the road for this Jets squad at the end of February till mid March when they take on Montreal and Toronto a combined nine times.
