Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note:  The Jets woke up in the middle frame last night scoring three straight en route to a 5-1 win over the Senators to improve to 8-4-1 on the season. Today they will practice as they get ready to conclude their two-game homestand tomorrow afternoon.  Be sure to check back for our Practice Report.

Note II:  The Moose will have two big additions today as the Jets announced they had reassigned Dylan Samberg and Ville Heinola from the taxi squad to their AHL affiliate.  This certainly gives Manitoba an embarrassment of prospect riches on the blueline.

Note III:  The Moose are back on the ice today as they close out training camp this weekend and then will kick off their regular season on Monday with a game against the Marlies.  Check out the Practice Report for more.

ESPN:  Jets prospect Cole Perfetti’s 34 days of isolation: ‘I’m like a quarantine professional now’.  What a relief it is going to be for these guys once they can get some normality back in their lives with actual hockey to play on Monday.  The Jets prospect has certainly gotten his fill of isolation the last few months.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets survive first-period onslaught to roll over Senators.  There is no question that the theme song for the Senators is Shots by LMFAO because this team shoots from everywhere on the ice.  Ted had more from his spot inside the arena.

Winnipeg Free Press: Different defence for Jets. It was seen as a way to ease Tucker Poolman back into the lineup after he dealt with COVID but the reality is seven D can be a tad chaotic. Jay has more.

Global News: Jets back in win column after 5-1 win over lowly Senators.  The opening period didn’t make it look good for the home side but the quick start in the middle frame got them going in the right direction.

The Jets were outplayed by the Sens in the first period, being heavily outshot, but thanks to Connor Hellebuyck, they were able to weather the storm to keep things scoreless.
