Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note:  After a second straight day of practice on Monday with four balanced lines the Jets are in Calgary today to close out this four-game mini series with the Flames. Morning skate gets underway at 12:30 PM CT. Stay tuned for the pre-game report in advance of the 9 PM CT puck drop.

Note II:  Another day of training camp/regular season practice for the Moose as they continue to wait for the AHL to release their regular season schedule.  Update:  Wait no longer as the AHL released the February schedule for the All-Canadian division which includes eight games for Manitoba.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Maurice hopes NHL video review gaffe in Columbus will encourage review of the program.  His comments made sense and were measured and not overreactive.  Of course as he acknowledged its easy when it didn’t happen to him.  Ted also wrote about the busy schedule ahead, ready for Dubois to make an impact, 

Winnipeg Sun: Jets believe playing as five-man units key to improvement in defensive play.  Lots of room for the team to improve defensively but there have been signs lately they they are turning it around.

Winnipeg Free Press: Here’s hoping Jets enjoyed their break, there won’t be any more. (Paywall). In a condensed schedule time off is a bit of a luxury.

Winnipeg Free Press: Teammates want to see what Dubois can do. (Paywall). There is going to be a lot expected of the centre but something tells me he will be able to handle the pressure.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets new centre the total package. (Paywall).  Mike wrote about the newest member of the Jets squad.

Global News:  Maurice chooses balance for Jets, at least temporarily.  It is certainly going to be a very interesting next week or so as the Jets run these four lines against the Flames and likely the next pair of games against the Senators as well.
