Note: This is day 61 since the NHL and AHL hit the pause button on their respective 2019-20 seasons.

Note II:  The AHL Board of Governors held a meeting on Friday where it was discussed cancelling the remainder of the season.  Things weren’t looking too promising for the Manitoba Moose who sat last in the Central Division (seven points back of 4th place) with 15 games left.  Stay tuned to find out the fate of the Jets affiliate.  Update:  The AHL made it official this morning that they have cancelled the regular season and playoffs.  I took a look at some of the bright spots as well as noteworthy events from the past season. Sportsnet:  Mixed feelings around hockey about holding NHL draft earlyI still fail to understand the need to rush the draft.  If you believe you are gonna have a season then you have a draft when the season concludes.  It really makes no sense to hold it in advance of the league making a decision to either proceed or cancel the remainder of the 2019-20 season.
