Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Your source for all the latest Jets and Moose news, video and audio.

Note:  The Jets practiced on Saturday as they got ready to face the Flyers this afternoon at Bell MTS Place. An injured Philadelphia squad was busy in St. Paul playing and losing 4-1 to the Wild yesterday afternoon and also losing a few more players as Scott Laughton and Tyler Pitlick were injured in the game.  Check back for the pre-game report for more game news.  Puck drop is at 4 pm.

Note II:  The three game slide for Manitoba ended last night in San Antonio as they won it 4-2 over the Rampage. Mikhail Berdin had 41 saves on the night and Emile Poirier celebrated his bday with a goal and assist.  The team is now 14-15-0-0 on the season and will head to Colorado next as the five-game road trip continues.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets Gameday – Five Keys to the GameScott’s big matchup is Mark Scheifele vs. Flyers defence. His Five Keys to the Game include: 1) Flying Philly. 2) Laine’s assistance. 3) Confident Connor. 4) Afternoon delight. 5) Back to normal at home?

Winnipeg Sun:  Full-of-fun Jets enjoying themselves in a different way this season.   I made this point a few weeks or a month back on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show that this team just seems to be enjoying themselves a lot more this season.  And while that could be attributed to winning it just seems like there is a different mentality this season.

Winnipeg Free Press:  After Detroit disappointment, Jets prepare for tough stretch.  (Paywall).  While it won’t be easy based on who they have coming to town, the Jets have made Bell MTS Place a bit more formidable of late (7-1-1 in last nine) so they will have to attempt to keep that streak alive when they play their next three opponents.
