Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Your source for all the latest Jets and Moose news, video and audio.

Note:  The Jets took to the ice on Saturday for practice as they got ready for today’s afternoon contest against the Stars.  Coach Maurice confirmed that the lineup will be the same which includes Connor Hellebuyck starting between the pipes.  Check out the pre-game report later this morning.  Puck drop is at 1 pm.

Note II:  The Moose played last night in Chicago where they concluded the road trip with a 3-0 win which gave them back-t0-back shutouts from Mikhail Berdin.  Lots of hot streaks continued last night.  They’ll start a four-game home stand tomorrow afternoon with a 4 pm start against the Stars.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Fine move for Finn.  (Paywall).  It made a lot of sense for him to head back home for the season to continue his development.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Hellebuyck demystifies dark art of goaltending.  (Paywall).  Hellebuyck provided some insight into his craft.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets look to snap Stars’ four-game winning streakThe big matchup is Connor Hellebuyck vs. all comers.  His five things include: 1) More of that. 2) Solving Bishop. 3) Keep it Connor-ing. 4) Jets killer. 5) Penalty killed.

Winnipeg Sun:  Re-calibrated Hellebuyck working wonders for JetsIt isn’t very hard to see how the Jets are managing to stay afloat this season.

The Athletic Winnipeg: With Blake Wheeler and Patrik Laine struggling, the Jets are getting by on hard work and heart.  (Paywall).  It ain’t gonna come easily for this Jets team all season long but perhaps if they can continue to bank points despite the overall team analytics, they could put themselves into a good position.

The Athletic Winnipeg:  A tale of two Jets rookies: David Gustafsson sticks around as Ville Heinola heads home.  (Paywall).  Don’t think many expected these two to get as many games in North America as they both achieved.  They are both very nice prospects for this organization and Ken looks at the Nordic duo.
