Note: The Jets and Preds rivalry always makes for a fun evening and folks inside Bell MTS Place enjoyed seeing the home side defeat their Central Division rival Predators 5-3 and assume 1st in the division with a 38-22-4 record. Newcomer Kevin Hays had a memorable evening with a three-point night while Lauren Brossoit made numerous big saves to preserve the victory. They were originally scheduled to practice today ahead of departing on the road for four games but they have cancelled it so we won’t hear from them until tomorrow when they are in Columbus to take on the Blue Jackets.
Note: The Moose played the Senators last night and pulled off a huge 3-2 win in OT thanks to the second game in a row that Seth Griffith scored two including game winners (in both). Mikhail Berdin, who was thrust into the starter’s role when Eric Comrie was recalled up to the Jets had a memorable birthday making 34 saves in the victory including a penalty shot in overtime. They will wrap up this six-game road trip against these same Senators in Belleville tonight at 6 pm.
